We are having our official visit from the Grand Master this evening.  Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM. The Grand Master will present 50 year pins upstairs in the lodge immediately after dinner.

We will open lodge on the Third Degree after the public presentations.  The Grand Master has requested a tyled visit this evening.

We had an interesting and productive gathering last night at South Denver.  The finance committee reviewed our investments which went smoothly, as expected.  Bro. Robin continues to do an outstanding job.

The By-Laws discussion was very informative. Many excellent opinions were expressed.  We noticed a couple of critical issues with a few of the amendments.  The chairman of the committee has indicated that he will be withdrawing those amendments at our last meeting in May.  The discussion regarding how our funds are managed was particularly intense.  I do expect a significant turn out for our last meeting in May for the balloting.

Please contact me if you would like a more detailed conversation regarding this meeting.  It was called for informative purposes only and no binding decisions were made.  I felt an in depth discussion was warranted due to the importance of the issues which the committee is addressing in our by-laws.

Can you believe it’s the 3rd Saturday in April already! Well, it’s time for breakfast with our Masonic Family served by the young ladies of the Bethel, parents and guardians.  This is a great event, all you can eat for $5 donation.  The ladies do this as part of their fund raisers and it helps the temple fund as well.  Bring your whole family and while you’re at it roust up some of your friends who have been asking about Masonry. We had an outstanding stated meeting last night. Brother Andrew and Brother Erik presented a near letter perfect proficiency.  As Brother Andrew is eager to receive the degree and we are about to go dark, I have asked the brethren of Weston Lodge if they can do the courtesy work for us. Bros. Joe, Curt and I will be attending and are looking forward to the degree.

We had an out standing turnout for the degree work, and it was met with outstanding work. The ritual gets better all the time and the more often I see it the more I take away.  It pops in to my mind during the day and some aspect of the lessons informs my actions or reveals some deeper meaning in the actions I take.

Don’t forget that the 9Health Fair will be held at the Scottish Rite Consistory this Saturday.  It’s always well attended and the work we are doing for the community is important.

Well, I stopped by the Lodge this morning to drop off my Tux before the degree.  The preparation room was in perfect order, but there seemed to be some things missing.  I finally realized that the room was all set up, the furniture in it’s place and work is ready to begin! Our tools are in place, the trestle board is laid out, and when the workers arrive there will be no confusion.

We will open the lodge as soon as we have enough Master Masons to do that, we’ve got it scheduled for 6 PM.  I’ll be there earlier than that though.  Dinner at 6:30 and we will resume work as soon as dinner is completed.

Thanks again to the brethren from Englewood Lodge 166 for joining us Tuesday night for our stated communication.  Bringing Masons together from two different lodges at the same time proved to be a fun and interesting experience.  We learned a great deal from each other and generated some questions.

Worshipful Brother Pete and I are going to be researching the protocol regarding the presence of two masters, two lodges and two hats. While the reading of our by-laws’ amendments might have seemed dry on the surface, it offered us an opportunity to compare the way our lodges approach governance. The Senior Deacons discussed lodge tradition regarding the opening ritual. I look forward to a short report and discussion in our next communication.

I believe Worshipful Brother Pete’s original intent was amply successful.  We have created new and lasting bonds between our lodges.  I am looking forward to our next joint communication with Englewood Lodge this fall.  WB Pete and the brethren of Englewood will be hosting South Denver No. 93 at Radiant Temple.

Big night brethren.  This will be the first time our line has held a joint session with another lodge.  WB Pete and the officers of Englewood Lodge 166 will be joining us.  WB Cliff Porter will be providing Masonic Education.  Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM, but feel free to join us early for fellowship.

WB, Ed has put together some outstanding work for his lodge this year.  If you have an opportunity, please go and visit with them.

We’ll be practicing, dissecting and discussing the First Degree this evening.  The officer lineup for the degree in April will be different from the line up in March, come see our officers in new roles! We’ll be gathering around 6 PM.

We may wander up to Bardo for a cup of coffee at some point.
